What is meant by camera trial?
According to Section 352 of the Criminal Procedure Code, the court will be open to all. As long as there is convenient space, there can be public access.
However, the judge or magistrate may, if he deems fit, at any stage of the investigation or trial of a particular case, direct that no public or private person may enter or stay in the room or building used by the court.
Conducting a trial in such a judge's private room is called a camera trial or a closed-door trial. In this case, camera means the judge's private room, chamber or the judge's private sitting room next to the courtroom. For example, juvenile delinquency cases, women abuse cases are camera trials.
