On October 18, 2017, police in Sharsha, Jashore, based on a tip-off, arrested Md. Kazi Asadul and Md. Faisal near a passenger shed. Upon searching them in the presence of witnesses, police recovered 100 pieces of Yaba tablets from Asadul's lungi and 100 pieces from Faisal's pant pocket, totaling 20 grams worth Tk 60,000. A seizure list was prepared at the scene.

An FIR was lodged, and the case was investigated. The Investigating Officer submitted a charge sheet against Asadul under Section 19(1) Table 9 (Kha) of the Narcotics Control Act, 1990. Faisal, being a minor, had a separate charge sheet.

During the trial, six prosecution witnesses, including the informant and the IO, testified, corroborating the recovery of Yaba tablets from Asadul. One of the seizure list witnesses was declared hostile. The defense claimed false implication.

The court found the testimonies of the police witnesses consistent and credible, supported by the seizure list and FIR. The court concluded that the prosecution successfully proved the recovery of 100 Yaba tablets from Asadul's possession.

Therefore, the court convicted Md. Kazi Asadul (20) under Section 19(1) Table 9 (Kha) of the Narcotics Control Act, 1990, and sentenced him to five years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Tk 5,000, with an additional one month of simple imprisonment in default of fine payment.
